I provided photography and video coverage for St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Limerick, working with Limerick City Council across a city-wide programme running from March 14th to March 17th.

The coverage spanned multiple locations throughout the city, documenting key events including the St Patrick’s Day parade, live performances, the International Band Championship, the Irish National Clown Orchestra, Legends of Limerick and the city’s block party. Work was carried out in collaboration with a videographer, capturing both still imagery and motion across the full programme.

A combination of mirrorless photography and vertical video was used to ensure content was suitable for immediate use across Instagram and digital platforms. Fast turnaround was required throughout, with imagery and video delivered for same-day posting to support live event coverage and ongoing audience engagement.

Working across a programme of this scale required a responsive and consistent approach. The St Patrick’s Day parade in particular presented rapidly changing conditions, with bright sun shifting to heavy rain within short intervals. Despite this, crowd energy remained strong, and the focus stayed on capturing atmosphere, interaction and key moments as they developed.

Access included press areas and official vantage points, allowing coverage of key figures including the Mayor of Limerick alongside performances and public engagement throughout the event.

The approach remained unobtrusive, allowing events to unfold naturally while maintaining control over composition, exposure and overall consistency. Coverage focused on both large-scale moments and smaller details, from crowd reactions and performer movement to the broader atmosphere of the city during the celebrations.

A full set of photography and video assets was delivered for use across social media, press and promotional platforms, providing a consistent and practical visual record of the festival across the full weekend.
