Riverfest Limerick

I provided photography and video coverage for Riverfest Limerick, working across a multi-day programme running from May 1st to May 4th in collaboration with Limerick City Council.

The weekend began with FashionFest, a showcase of fashion design introduced by the Mayor of Limerick and produced in collaboration with Holman Lee Agency. This set the tone for the weekend, combining structured runway moments with a live event atmosphere.

From there, coverage moved across a wide range of events throughout the city. The Riverfest Village in Limerick Park brought together food vendors, attractions and large public crowds, creating a busy and energetic environment that required a more fluid, observational approach.

Saturday included access to the exploration of the George Bernard Shaw naval vessel, followed by coverage of Fidget Feet, an acrobatic dance group performing at Redemption Church. Their nighttime performance combined fire dancing and aerial work suspended from a crane, creating a visually striking and fast-moving environment that required careful timing and positioning to capture effectively.

Sunday’s coverage included the Great Limerick Run, a large-scale public event with a very different pace and atmosphere, as well as a silent disco where participants used headsets to create a unique and interactive crowd dynamic. The weekend concluded with a large fireworks display beside King John’s Castle, providing a strong visual finish to the festival.

Working across multiple locations and event types required careful time management and constant movement throughout the city to ensure each part of the programme was covered effectively. Conditions remained favourable across the weekend, allowing for consistent coverage across both daytime and evening events.

Photography and video were delivered for use across social media, press and promotional platforms, providing a complete visual record of the festival from start to finish.

Based in Cork and working across Ireland, I provide event photography and videography for festivals, public events and large-scale city programmes.
